Flying Towards a Greener Horizon

At Air Asia Express, we recognize that the privilege of connecting the world comes with the responsibility of protecting it. Climate change is a global challenge, and the aviation sector must play its part in securing a sustainable future.

We are deeply committed to reducing our carbon footprint, minimizing waste, and investing in cleaner technologies. Our journey toward Net Zero by 2050 is paved with actionable goals, innovative partnerships, and a dedication to leaving our skies cleaner for the next generation.

Green Leaf in Hands

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)

We are gradually transitioning our fleet to utilize Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Produced from renewable resources like cooking oil and agricultural waste, SAF has the potential to reduce lifecycle emissions by up to 80% compared to traditional fossil fuels.

A Circular Economy

What comes on board matters. We have removed millions of single-use plastic items from our inflight services, replacing them with biodegradable alternatives. Our comprehensive cabin waste recycling program ensures that paper, glass, and aluminum are strictly repurposed.

Our Environmental Pillars

Sustainability is integrated into every aspect of our operations, both on the ground and in the air.

Fuel Efficiency

We operate one of the youngest, most fuel-efficient fleets in the region, using advanced software to optimize flight paths and reduce fuel burn.

Carbon Offsetting

Passengers can choose to offset their flight's carbon emissions during booking. Contributions fund verified forestry and renewable energy projects.

Water Conservation

Our aircraft washing techniques utilize 'dry wash' technologies, saving millions of liters of fresh water every year across our maintenance hubs.

Community Care

We partner with local NGOs across Asia to protect biodiversity, clean up coastlines, and promote sustainable tourism in our destinations.
